2012 – Bioluminescence lagoons, good family time and fun in the sun

This was a fun family trip at a beautiful resort. My mom, sister and I went on a kayaking excursion at night to the bioluminescent lagoon. Wow, it was incredible. The hardest part was staying on course as we navigated the mangrove roots in the shallow waters.

The days were filled with a combo of relaxing and jungle hikes, where we spotted one of the smallest orchid species on record and searched for their famous coqui frogs. We never even made it into town. It was a perfect retreat.
